Full-Time General Manager
Job Description
We are a Laos based company and are the authorized distributor in Laos for a major international lubricants company. We supply lubricants and associated support services to customers in all market segments. These customers operate in the motorcycle, passenger car, commercial vehicle, mining, steel, power generation, manufacturing and process industries. Lubricants are supplied through a combination of company branches and a network of sub-distributors. We are a growth orientated company that can deliver excellent career development opportunities for our employees.
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to profitably develop our lubricant business in Laos over the coming years. The role involves overall management of the lubricants business in Laos and will be supported by a highly experienced regional team. Key responsibilities of the role are ::
- Development and Leadership of a safety culture within all activities of the lubricants business.
- Management of all sales, technical, marketing ,logistics, customer service and business service support resources in the company
- Management of sales revenue, volume and gross margin as components of the profit and loss with a focus on synthetics and premium lubricants sales in accordance with the business plan.
- Management of all Trade Accounts Receivables, Operational Expenses and Marketing investments related to lubricant sales within Laos.
- Ensure successful establishment and growth of the brand awareness in line with the appropriate guidelines from the marketing support team.
- Establish and achieve the objectives outlined in the long term business strategy and annual business plan.
- Manage the planning and budgeting in close cooperation with the regional support team and our supplier resources.
- Identify, develop, train, recognize and retain the employees who contribute to the success of the lubricant business in Laos using all the resources from the supporting teams
- Develop relationships with key customers to support continued growth of the lubricants business in Laos
- Develop appropriate relationships with key government officials, suppliers and other relevant parties to ensure smooth and effective operation of the lubricants business.
- Ensure implementation of proper control requirements throughout the lubricants business focused on flawless execution of all activities.
Suitable candidates will hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Marketing or other related discipline. Experience in a general manager / leadership position is required. Sales management experienced in a related industry would be advantageous. With the proactive nature of the business the successful candidate will need to be hard working, honest, motivated and dedicated due to the proactive nature of the role. Business management ,human resource management, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills are key attributes required for the role. English language skills are key to successful performance in the role
